Sibling Lake Weekend

We spent Memorial Day weekend down at the lake and it was our first weekend to go since Christmas! 

With all the massive amounts of rain recently our lake is full to the brim for the first time in years. Ironically, it rained most of the weekend and when we did get the boat and the jet skis in the water and back on the dock, there was something wrong with both of them requiring a few hours of work from Ben and Alex before we could really enjoy them. 

BUT, fortunately, we were in great company. Gary and Cheryl were in Europe for an amazing vaca and so Mendy and I decided to invite just our siblings down for the weekend. 

Unfortunately, Matt and Sandy couldn't come but Mendy's sister, L'Nae, Chace and Lucy came for three nights and Bart, Olivia and Anson came for one night.

 It really was one of the most relaxing weekends we have had in a while. Friday night our family stopped for dinner at the Jalepeno Tree in Gun Barrel City. 

 Gary has been telling us about it for years and we hadn't tried it yet but, it sure didn't disappoint.

  

When Mendy and Alex arrived we just relaxed on the back porch. We tried to take a picture together but, Alex just can't smile like a normal person for any photo and we can't help but laugh. 

 

Love this girl. 

She is a rock and such a strong, amazing sister and friend of mine.

 So blessed. 

 

L'Nae, Chace and Lucy got there after we went to bed but in the morning we were all ready to play! We learned the trim on the boat didn't work as Ben floated back farther and farther into the cove and Chace had to jump in and pull it to the dock fully clothed. 

 

When it wasn't raining, we spent lots of time digging in the sand. 

 

or really, watching the kids dig in the sand... 

 

We also did lots of fishing on the dock.

Both Lucy and Kinley brought Frozen swimsuits so we had to take a matching picture.

And these kids are lucky to have have a talented Aunt Minnie and get all the cutest monogrammed stuff.

Bart and Olivia and Anson came Sunday and Monday and by the time they got there all the water equipment was fixed and the weather was great!
