Santa 2011

We went to see Santa today! It was so fun and went very smoothly. There was not even a line at all! Kinley got to watch one little girl talk to Santa before her and she was really excited. No meltdowns, no mugshots, and no tears. Kinley just walked right up to Santa and said "Hi, I'm Kinley and this is Baby Ty" and then she started telling him what she wanted for Christmas. I even woke Ty up to sit with Santa and he was happy as could be. So much fun! I love this time of year!

Thanksgiving and a little bit of Christmas

This is a little delayed...but, we did have a wonderful thanksgiving! We spent all day at the Harrison's eating until we could not eat anymore and just hanging out. Kinley loved cooking with Gram and Ty just slept and smiled most of the day.

Friday we spent the afternoon and evening at my mom's for some Joyner Thanksgiving where lots more food was eaten.

The boys stood outside manning the turkey on the green egg (it was amazing!) and watching football through the windows.

Since then, we have been decorating the house for Christmas. Ben put up lights on the roof, in the freezing cold, 25 mile an hour wind the other day...maybe not our smartest decision. I tried to help the best I could but, Ty was cold...(yes, I did crop myself out of this picture because I looked disgusting...)

but, Kinley loved helping...

I have a couple of Christmas decor projects that I am going to work on this week but, so far I just downloaded this one really cool subway art print out and framed it for my mantle. I might copy the banner too...but, not sure if it might be too much for what I already have going on?

We haven't hung our stockings yet because I need to get another stocking hanger...but, I did get Ty's stocking from mom! Do you remember Kinley's? Well, mom busted out Ty's stocking in no time and it.is.amazing! Seriously, it is perfection. She makes it look so easy. Don't you think it is perfect for a boy!? I love these timeless stockings. I still have mine that Inie made me when I was a kid and I remember LOVING pulling it out at Christmastime every year. Such sweet memories.

Also, I got to put up this fantastic nativity scene that my dad brought back from Africa this summer. It is handmade and so adorable.

I LOVE the sheep...

and the wise men....

and look at little holy-ghost-like baby Jesus. Kinley is sad that he is actually glued in there and won't come out.

We also busted out our Christmas Countdown Blocks from last year....only 27 more days!

And just for good measure...how about a couple of Ty pics in his adorable plaid shirt!

3 Ansons

This past weekend Bart and Olivia were in town and Bart got to meet Ty for the first time! It is crazy when some family lives out of state that months could go by without two of the most important people in your life meeting! I know Boston has been and is a wonderful thing for Bart and O...but, I am super selfish and I could not wish them together back in Texas fast enough!

Bart is truly so personal and thoughtful and he had a special surprise for Ty. Olivia said he thought up this idea and vision in his head and told her exactly what he wanted to do. He knows the key to my heart....and he made personalized t-shirts!!!!

They printed out images from their computer onto iron on transfer paper and cut them out to make fantastic "Anson" t-shirts! Ty got a white onesie and Dad and Bart got maroon t-shirts. They all had their initials on the front and "Anson" on the back and were numbered by their generation. I LOVED it!!!

Even though we do not have Bart and Olivia for Thanksgiving this year, it was so fun to have everyone for a morning brunch at Mom & Dad's. How sweet are these uncles!?

The weather was awesome so we spent a lot of the morning outside.

Kinley had so much fun with Simmonds.

And there was lots of Baby Ty bonding.

Ty - 2 months

I am a little late on this post, a week actually, but Ty is 2 months old! I really can't believe it has only been 2 months. We cannot imagine our lives without him. He is truly the biggest blessing! I used to totally not get it when people blogged details like I am about to but after having Kinley and totally forgetting what she weighed, ate, or when she hit certain milestones without looking back at the blog...I wish I had documented a little more. So, if this bores you...skip on ahead to the cute pictures. Ha!

We had Ty's 2 month appointment late last week and his stats are:
  • 13.5 pounds
  • 75th % for height
  • 80th % for weight
  • 80th % for head circumference
So, he is a very proportionate, bigger than average boy. I feel like he gets bigger everyday! He is still just eating breastmilk and just wakes up once at night to eat. We have not mastered a nap schedule really yet...I should start on that soon. He really just sleeps whenever and wherever during the day. He naps and sleeps best at night if he is wrapped tight in his miracle blanket. Best.Thing.Ever. He has gained lots of head control and he is so expressive when he can turn his head and follow voices. Really, during this second month his personality has come alive even more! He is such a content baby. Whether he is hanging out in the swing, in his bouncer or laying under his play yard or mobile he is just happy and usually smiling. He had a tough time with his 2 month shots....some fever and fussiness but other than that...he does not cry much! What a sweet angel!

During month 2 we had a trip to the zoo, the stockyards and the arboretum. We had our first road trip and over night visit with Ty this month to Temple. He adjusted great, did great in the car, and slept like a champ.

Ty also had his first Halloween and the Rangers were in the world series!

He started "cooing" and "talking" a LOT this month. He is very chatty....surprised much? Here is a little sample:

He is just a sweet, fun, blessing of a boy! Ty, you are teaching us everyday how to love more like Christ. We pray that you will become a young man that loves the Lord with all your heart and demonstrates that through your actions.

"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth."
1 John 3: 18
