Kinley singing medley

I have been wanting to post this video for a while and just hadn't gotten it all put together  until now.

My mom took some videos of Kinley singing some songs for us at family birthdays a few weeks ago.

Kinley will pretty much sing any song to anyone if they ask but when the camera comes out she gets a little shy sometimes. That day she was particularly in the performing mood and she had on her princess dress that Momma Gay had just mended for her and so mom tried to quietly film her.

She was a little shy at first and quiet and forgot some lyrics with the camera rolling but, she eventually warmed up to it....alot.

If you have time to watch the whole thing, you can see the progression...it's not that long...but, if not, at least skip to the end and watch the grand finale of her singing "I just can't wait to be King." This is her favorite song right now and even though she doesn't know all the lyrics she is hilariously animated and it is so fun.
I am so glad we finally got it on video. This reminds me so much of a video my mom took of me when I was about 2 years old singing lots of songs to this same group of adults...just about 30 years earlier.
These are the moments I don't ever want to forget.
On another note...this girl is 3 1/2 today.
Happy Half-Birthday Kinley!

Guess Who's Back, Back Again

The Fogle's are Back in town!

And all seems right in Kinley's little world right now.
I am not sure how I am going to break it to her when Eden leaves again in a week or so but, I am choosing to ignore that for now and live in the sweet bliss of having her BFF around for a bit.

Jen and Eden came to pick Kinley up from school Friday and surprised her and it was quite the reunion to behold. They immediately hugged and held hands until they left the building. Eden was a hit at school with all her girlfriends surrounding her and so excited she was back. I was a little emotional for Jen to see how missed she was and how happy Eden was in her comfort zone.
We then proceeded to hang out all day...after school, through dinner, through bathtime until bedtime and everyone had a great time...only iphone pics for this post...sorry.IMG_2450 IMG_2454 IMG_2446
They came home mainly for Eden's birthday party at Sweet &Sassy.

Kinley had not ever been there yet and it was so much fun. They have the pampering down there and the girls had such a fun time getting their hair and face done, dressing up, having a runway show, dance party and getting pictures made. IMG_2465 IMG_2468 IMG_2470
I could not believe they could get Kinley's hair in a french braid. I was telling the hair girl good luck and she blew my expectations out of the water! IMG_2463 IMG_2467 IMG_2469
Sweet girls. IMG_2472 IMG_2480
I am sure we will have many more adventures with the Fogles as the week progresses. Hopefully, I will be better at blogging and taking pictures than I have been.

Ty - 12 months

I totally know I already posted his birthday party...but, I wanted to do one last little post about Ty's 12th month to round out his first year.
I probably won't be doing these every month now. Maybe every well-check or half-birthday. But, I will miss our monthly photo shoots, although it is getting much harder every time.
  IMG_1779
At his one year check-up Ty is:
  • 30.5 inches 75th percentile
  • 23 pounds 50th percentile
  • 19.35 inch head size 90th percentile
I still can't believe he isn't taller or heavier. He is just so much bigger than Kinley and every time people see him they say "what a big boy!" I just can't believe it when I go in and he is smaller than I expect. He has lots of tall people to take after and he eats like a horse. Maybe we have a growth spurt coming soon.

He has 8 teeth right now and at least 3 more coming in...some of them molars. IMG_1774
He is a great sleeper now! Hallelujah! Seriously, this is the biggest blessing of this 12th month. He naps like a champ and sleeps all night. I think he finally fell in love with his bed and likes being in there.

He has done a little free-standing this month...not too much, but a little. He is right on track with his gross motor skills but isn't walking quite yet. That will be a fun post to update sometime soon.

He is a huge climber though. I can't turn my head for a minute or he will be up on a coffee table or the kids little table or a chair. He has a scab on his nose and a little bruise on his head still that was a golf ball size bump that he got climbing over a chair in the nursery at church. The sweet ladies were so nervous for Ben to go pick him up because they thought he would be so upset with them but, Ben just said...I am not surprised at all. It happens all the time.
  IMG_1771

He can point and put up a number one for being one year old. IMG_1787 IMG_1788

He is starting to mimick lots of noises. He can repeat lots of sounds and is very verbal. He still just says a few words though: mama, dada, tyty, ball, woah, uh-oh, yay.

Still no interest in TV at all. His favorite toys are balls and trucks and his little ride on cars (because you can climb on them) and his favorite activities are throwing a ball or rolling a ball back and forth, or being outside crawling, exploring or sliding. He is not really into swinging at all. I am hoping we can cure him of that this fall. What kid doesn't like to swing!?

He definitely misses Kinley while she is at school and is elated and lights up when we pick her up at the end of the day. They are the sweetest friends. I just love it.

Here is a little video of us singing Ty happy birthday the morning he turned one.

 I love you Ty-Ty. Happy Birthday big boy! IMG_1770 IMG_1780 IMG_1776 IMG_1777 IMG_1773 IMG_1772

Ty's 1st Birthday - Let's Have a Ball Party

Oh, we totally did have a ball.
It was just so much fun. I am still trying to take it all in.
In the end, all that matters is that Ty turned one and we celebrated him.
He was amazing the entire night and stayed up way past his bedtime and smiled the entire time despite waking up with a little cold and runny nose. (doesn't that always happen on their birthdays?)
It was surreal singing happy birthday to Ty because I remember it being Kinley in that high chair such a short time ago. I could not be more thankful for my sweet babies and I am so thankful that we have blogs and digital pictures and ways to document our memories of these special occasions.

The decorations were so simple and just a few things made an impact.
All I really did was hang some balls from the ceiling, string the styrofoam ball garland on fishing line, sew together some circle punch out garland, and make a happy birthday banner with my silhouette. Gum balls also added a fun pop in my apothecary jar and hot glued on a cardboard number one.
And that was all the decorations....except, of course, I had to add his month-by-month birthday picture banner. IMG_1520 IMG_1527 picstitch-3 IMG_1541
The party favors included bubbles, bouncy balls, ball-shaped candy, and gum balls. All inside these amazing colorful favor balls that I found at party city. So perfect! IMG_1532 The food was also all in the "ball" theme. We had cheese balls, cheeto puff balls, grapes, balled watermelon, cake balls, meatballs, sausage balls, etc.

Mendy made an amazing ball shaped smash cake for Ty. I really have the best cake person ever. She customizes for me for every party and is always up for the challenge. She also made some cupcakes which we topped off with gum balls.
 IMG_1542
IMG_1555 And I had to make Ty a t-shirt for his big day. I love a long sleeved tee. That day it was rainy and actually got cool so I am glad it was long-sleeved. photo-175
The night could NOT have been half of what it was without Maverick. He let us borrow his "jump jump" bounce house that we loaded down with bouncy balls, and two ball pits and all his ball pit balls. It really helped make our ball theme! Thank you! IMG_1534 IMG_1727 IMG_1734 IMG_1737 IMG_1606 IMG_1579 IMG_1578 Confession time...I really tried to tone it down with the invite list for Ty's party.
I knew it was going to be on a Friday night and I didn't want everyone invited to feel obligated to come after a long week and I just feel like I am asking so many people to come to parties all the time with my birthday and all of Kinley's party. I just felt guilty a little inviting anyone but family and friends that Ty sees on a really regular basis.
But, then the day of the party came and I was so sad that I didn't just invite everyone! I missed so many people and was second-guessing myself...I mean, people can decide whether they want to come or not, right!?
Just because they get the invite doesn't mean they are forced to come....it was such an inner battle for me.
But, I tried to suck it up and remember that this is not about ME and just focus on making it the best for Ty. And he did have SO much fun.
We are so blessed with such close family and friends that really know and love Ty. IMG_1756 IMG_1747 IMG_1634 IMG_1702 picstitch-8 IMG_1681 IMG_1726 picstitch-6 IMG_1732 IMG_1620 IMG_1630 IMG_1611 IMG_1701 IMG_1699 IMG_1694 IMG_1597 IMG_1575 IMG_1594 IMG_1591 IMG_1584 He was a little more reserved than I thought he would be about diving into his smash cake. I mean, this kid eats anything and everything. I think he must have just been a little shy in front of all the people but, once he started in on it...he definitely loved it and ate until I had to pull him away. IMG_1638 IMG_1645 IMG_1646 IMG_1647 IMG_1649 IMG_1650 IMG_1667 IMG_1668 IMG_1670 IMG_1671 IMG_1672 The kids just played and played and played all night long. They loved jumping, coloring, dressing up, and loved running around the court and riding Kinley's car in the street. IMG_1596 IMG_1600 picstitch-7 IMG_1690 IMG_1687 IMG_1682 IMG_1725 IMG_1621 IMG_1617 picstitch-5 IMG_1626
Opening presents was a total whirlwind. Kinley and some other kids just started ripping things up and I ran over as fast as I could with pen and paper trying to make notes about what all Ty got. It was over in about 2 minutes.
 I hope I got everything written down! IMG_1707 IMG_1711
Around that time we tried to take a sibling picture and one of them both with me...but, these are the best I got.
(notice Kinley's like 100th outfit change of the evening) IMG_1712 IMG_1724 At the end of the night they all decided to have their own "ball" and get dressed up and dance in the study. They all looked and danced beautifully at the ball. It was so fun to witness them all get dressed up to go to the ball.

Happy Birthday to my precious baby boy.
Your first year has been an absolute dream come true.
I am crazy about you and so blessed by knowing you.
 I love you to pieces. IMG_1565 IMG_1562 IMG_1736
