Valentines Day 2014 - way too late

We celebrated Valentines day around here but you wouldn't know it because I didn't take many pictures throughout the season of love.
We had Valentines playgroup at the beginning of Valentine's week at Stacee's house and all the kids brought and passed out their valentines to each other. We had valentines cupcakes and lots of fun play time.

We have been cutting out and decorating hearts constantly. I decided to tone down Valentines this year for Kinley's class. I think she is getting old enough to make her own and she doesn't really need me looking up a cute valentines idea on Pinterest and doing it for her.
But, it was a labor of love for her for sure. Between playgroup, family, and her class at school, she made probably 45 valentines.
She basically just stick heart stickers to paper cut out circles and hearts and signed them all "From Kinley."

We did decide to add a treat to the ones for her school friends after she passed a big box of ring pops at the grocery store.
Thanks to Kristen for her genius idea and tribute to Rihanna for this goodness

I still did Ty's for him this year and loved this cute non-candy idea I saw. What 2 year old doesn't love a glow stick!?

They got little valentines treats at gymnastics this week.
We tried to take a pic but, this is truly the best we got.
So bad.
Where's Ty?
and Kinley...smile! I mean...look at how cute Tatum looks!?

Both kids had valentines day parties at school. We aren't invited to Ty's yet so, I just took some brother/sister pictures at the beginning of the day.

He was an excited little heartbreaker.

But, I got to go to Kinley's party. As always, team room Donna did a great job getting it all organized!

I also had a couple treats at home for my little valentines at home.
(Side note: seeing this picture is making me a little sad right now! If you notice, there are super empty shelves on the walls and that is because we've moved! We are in a new house as of this week and it is a lot of the reason why blogging has been so sporatic lately...but, more on that to come!)

And how sweet are Uncle Bart and Aunt Olivia sending sticker books to Kinley and Ty for valentines day! Ty got a book full of dinosaurs, trucks, construction equipment, and boy stuff and Kinley got a Frozen sticker book!
We were beside ourselves.
Thank you!!

It was a great valentines day!  We have so much more going on to blog about...and I can't wait to do a recap of the rest of February soon!

Daddy Daughter Dance and Mommy Son Night 2014

The Daddy Daughter Dance is seriously Kinley's very favorite thing she gets to do the entire year. She looks so, so forward to it for months and is just giddy in anticipation of going. She loves that special one on one time with Ben and with all her little friends and their daddies too. Ben took her to dinner by herself for hibachi before and they met all their friends at the dance. And Compass does not disappoint. She comes home excited every time and says it was just the best night ever. They have food and crafts and photo booths and a candy bar and lots and lots of dancing music!
Ben got Kinley flowers again this year and she was in heaven.

While they were gone, Ty and I had a special night of our own! We went to a Fort Worth Brahmas hockey game for a benefit night for a sweet family in our church, the Gabbards. The hockey night was to benefit their son, Kason, who was born with cerebal palsy and cortical vision impairment. It was such a special night to support friends and take some boys to a hockey game!

And it was some really fun time with this handsome boy!

We had so much fun with so many friends. Mindy and Markus were there and the Davidson's with their sweet twins Hadley and Jack Henry. IMG_9706
We ate cotton candy galore... IMG_9708 IMG_9709

This is how Ty says "cheese." He tries so hard to say it loud but he doesn't actually smile while saying it.
 Sweet boy.

The boys loved just being able to yell as loud as they wanted the whole time with no one telling them to be quiet. and just had too much fun without all their sisters around!

I love, love Daddy Daughter Dance and Mommy-Son night. I can't wait to continue on these special traditions every year!

Sleepover at Aunt Minnie and Uncle Alex's

A couple weeks ago Mendy called me to ask if she thought it would be ok if the kids came over Friday night to their house for a sleepover.
 What!?
Just voluntarily asking for my kids overnight!
I mean, is that amazing or what!? I wanted to jump on board immediately but told her I would talk to Ben and let her know.
We have traveled alone without our kids and they have stayed at our house without us on a few occasions with our parents but, my kids have never, ever slept over without us at anyone's house.
This would be their first sleepover ever!
I knew Ty would be fine. He is a great sleeper and just put him in his pack in play and he will sleep all night anywhere. I knew Kinley would have a blast playing but, was a little nervous about bedtime for her. But, I just asked her if she wanted to go sleep over at Aunt Minnie and Uncle Alex's without mom and dad and she said yes, yes, yes!
Ben and I really didn't have anything fun planned but, we ended up going to dinner at Patrick and Michael's new restaurant Barter in Dallas with my family and just sleeping all night at home and sleeping in.
 It was amazing.
And even though, we all had a blast, I think Kinley and Ty had the most. fun. ever.

Mendy and Alex had activity after activity planned for these kids. They planned on rainbow spaghetti for dinner which the kids apparently loved making. She had cooked noodles all ready in different ziplock sacks with different food coloring that they could shake up. Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled
Alex performed some juggling tricks for dinnertime entertainment. Untitled
Then, the set up their fireplace as a stage for Kinley because she loves putting on fireplace shows. She made sure to bring her dorothy costume this time so she could perform Wizard of Oz with Brinkley as Toto.
They busted out the nail polish, because that is something special between Minnie and Kinley.
But, I think Uncle Alex got his first manicure too.
Untitled UntitledUntitled Untitled
They went outside in the dark and shot off these glow in the dark helicopter things that the kids chased all over the yard.

Ty went right to bed and Kinley fell asleep watching a movie with Minnie.
It was just the perfect night! I know they will be wanting sleepovers at Alex and Minnies again and again.
Thank you so much guys for the pictures and for loving my kids and just wanting to hang out with them. It means so much to us.
