This week, I turned 30!
I entered my third decade of life!
It sounds SO crazy to me! But, I am now 30 years old.
I was not sad at all actually about entering my thirties. I am actually so excited about what is to come!
My birthday weekend was very special and something I will always remember. It started out on Saturday morning. Mendy called me and said to be ready by 11:30. She came to pick me up and we went to eat lunch at my favorite sandwich place in Dallas and went shopping all day long at Northpark. We didn't even stop until our nails and toes were done at 6:00pm. It was fantastic. Just a girls day that was so relaxing and uninterrupted.
Then we went back to my house to get ready with Ben and Alex for "dinner" and a night out. We were to drop my kids off at my mom's but, as soon as we turned the corner I saw a ton of cars on the street and knew we were headed for a party!
It was so fun walking in to a backyard full of my closest family and friends.
My parents, Mendy, Alex, Scott and Katie had worked all day and night on Friday to get the backyard all set up and it looked amazing.
They had strung twinkle lights and hung chinese lanterns and had decorated the tables so beautifully. Mendy even ordered personalized koozies for the night.
They hung neon poster board garland and created a station for people to write notes to me.
Can you tell Mendy knew the theme of the party and helped me pick out my outfit for the night! I look like a neon glowstick!
There were tons of black and white pictures of my life strung like garland on the back porch and a fabulous photo booth set up for everyone to dress up and be silly.
My dad gave a great toast and prayer before dinner.
My parents hired an amazing one man band who could play anything from pop music to pat green.
He was fantastic.
After dinner Ben gave a great birthday toast and there was cake and lots of time just hanging out together.
So excited about my 30th birthday trip with my BFFs and our own logo tees..
The photo booth was a crowd fave...
And what's live music and a birthday without a dance party!?!?
Love...
of course...we can't get together without doing some stunting and lifts...who doesn't want to bring out the inner cheerleader??
And naturally with it being over 100 degrees outside and all that stunting and dancing, a pool party was a given. Some came prepared to swim and others were fully clothed. Many were inspired by the Olympics and were going for some great salutes and dives...
There are hundreds more pictures from the night. It was so hard to narrow it down (which I did do if you can believe it!) I was just so thankful to be there with so many people that I love and adore. I felt very blessed and celebrated and had a blast ringing in the thirties with my faves! And am so thankful to my parents and Ben and Mendy and Katie and everyone who helped set up and plan everything and help surprise me!
Yay for the 30s! I can't wait to see what else is ahead!
