Spring Break trip

We continued the tradition of a Spring Break trip with playgroup friends this year to Kingsland, TX.  Five families all rented and stayed in one house on a lake with a pool for two nights.
It was chaotic and so fun.
Nothing makes my heart happier than a family road trip.
Love having all my people shoved into one tiny space :)

We stopped on the way down for lunch in Glen Rose with the Nordells. Untitled

This is what dinners and hanging out at the house looked like.

Ben and I taught everyone how to play Saboteur. It is a great game to play with lots of people. Not everyone loves the deceit involved though. :)

We went one day to the Longhorn Cavern State park and took a tour of the caverns and had lunch in the state park. Donna really was amazing and made every mom and kid a matching shirt. So sweet! The caverns were so, so cool. The natural glowing rock and sand formations are amazing. There are parts of this cavern that used to be used during prohibition for restaurants and bars and stuff and the tour was so incredible.

After the cavern tour a lot of our group was wiped out and decided to drive around and take car naps. A few of us stumbled upon this local winery which ended up being such a treat! The scenery overlooking the lake was gorgeous and it was the most kid-friendly winery ever.
The owners have grandkids and keep cars and toys out by the fire pit for kids.

The next day we went to a local fish hatchery to explore a little.

Some of us stopped on our way back home at the Silos and the spring break crowd was crazy.
We didn't even attempt to get in the store.
But the grounds were still fun to explore together.

We have been wanting a couple more chickens at our house after losing a couple and so we decided on our way home to stop in Waxahachie and pick a couple more egg layers up.
It was the cutest little family farm with the sweetest owner who let our kids just run around and play with her dogs and chickens, use her bathroom and just explore.
My kids hadn't held chicks in a while and were in heaven.

We ended up bringing home Lulu and Lizzie and they are fantastic egg layers.
