Well, Easter was quite a whirlwind this year because it fell on Kinley's birthday weekend along with a million other things but, we definitely wanted to take time out to celebrate such a special holiday and celebrate Jesus' sacrifice.
I don't even know how many Easter Egg hunts that we went to...get ready for lots of egg hunting pics.
The first egg hunt she had was at school and Kinley had to bring 12 eggs for each of her classmates. But, I also had to make sure her lunch was full of eggs too. She was surprised to get eggs in her lunch and loved it.
The first was on Saturday at our church. It is a huge egg hunt with tons of people and over 32,000 eggs. I think every member of our church stuffed eggs at some point. Ben did it twice...with our small group one Wednesday night and with his men's bible study one night. Most of those guys don't even go to our church...and they did 1,700 eggs in one night. But, all those eggs were very appreciated. It's kind of a joke that it's really not an easter egg "hunt," more like a gathering.
This is a picture of just the area for 2 and 3 year olds.
We loved hunting with some playgroup friends.
They separate kids by age group and since I went with Kinley and Ben went with Ty, most pics are of Kinley...but, look at this cute little man hunting some eggs.
Easter morning, our kids woke up to easter baskets by the front door. The hunt for the "empty egg" was on and Kinley was so excited when she found both hers and Ty's empty egg. I love this tradition. It helps us all remember the empty tomb of Jesus with such excitement.
Then we cleaned up and had brunch at Aunt Jan's house with some more egg hunting, delicious food, and fun family time.
Look at how cute Amy is with Rilee and Taylor in there! They should be coming sometime soon...she is on bedrest now just resting and hoping they stay in there as long as they can.
Uncle Matt, Uncle Bart and Aunt Olivia always make everything more fun! We take lots of posed family pics at every occasion...
Egg hunt #3 was at Pops and Grams house with Minnie, Alex and Francesca. It was so much fun...but, I guess I was all pictured out by then...and we were probably on a sugar high.
It was such a fun weekend of tons of celebration and lots of eggs. But, we were truly glad it ended with a focus on Jesus and his sacrifice for us. I am always overwhelmed by the thought of it and so thankful for what he has done.
