More cousin time....

Monday was, my cousin, Josh's last football game of the year as a CMS football coach. So, we showed up again to support our favorite middle school coach. Josh had a great cheering section at the game and it was so much fun to hang with our sweet cousins again! Twice in one week is a really special treat!

I just can't let today pass without pointing you all to the blog of my best friend Allison. Many of you may not know the blessing she is to my life or the hardship she has endured in her past. But, today is the six-year anniversary of an accident that changed her life dramatically. It is an incredible story of God's amazing love, protection and grace. I am so thankful that Allison is ok today and that we can celebrate so many memories together. She teaches me daily about how to be a good mom and friend. She is always surrounded by so much fun and makes every situation fantastic! I love her dearly and please take a moment to hear her story in her own words.

Last night we had an impromtu get together at our house to watch the Cowboys beat the Eagles! We got to have over Mom and Dad and Allison's parents Bryce and Jo too...or as we say B-Pa and JoJo! We grilled out hamburgers and had so much fun just talking and laughing. I didn't take pictures until Kinley was asleep...so sad. But, we all had a great time...we just wish Bob, Allison and Ella were here too! Maybe next time....so glad ya'll came over!

Mom is slightly obsessed with playing Scrabble on her phone...so, there is rarely a picture without her looking like this. She and Jo kept trying to beat Dee...but, to no avail! They are nuts and kept trying to look 'cool' in a picture and for some reason thought that throwing up peace or gang signs was the ultimate sign of cool. So funny! We could not stop laughing!
I am still laughing here...they crack me up. It totally makes me think that Me, Kris, Allison and all our moms have the same sense of humor! I love it!

Week in review...

It has been a whole week since I posted and I can't believe it! This week has been a trying week for our household! We decided to take on this task this week of weaning Kinley off her night feedings so she would sleep all the way through the night. We also decided we would start trying to put her down awake and not rocking her totally to sleep before laying her down for bed and naps. It has been a tough process for our sweet baby to understand all the changes but, she is getting it down now and we are SO excited and proud of her. In the end I am SO glad we did this now instead of waiting any longer. After a few naps and nights of a 'modified' cry-it-out method...we are finally to the point where we are just telling her "time for night night" and putting her down. It is not perfect yet but, she can now put herself to sleep and sleeps all night long and is napping great! Consistency, perseverence and a LOT of patience and prayer was the key. So, because of all this...we we have not done much this week to blog about.

But, last night we had a fantastic cousin get-together at David and Kristi's house with all the in-town cousins. Almost everyone that lives in this area made it! We missed Natalie and baby Luke a lot and we left a little early to see Josh and Kristy but, we had a blast hanging with everyone else! Kinley and Aubrey hung out a ton and they were so cute playing together. I cannot wait for Christmas!!

Happy Halloween!

Kinley's first Halloween was a blast! Her little bumble bee costume was such a hit! We started the evening by going to our church Fall Festival. It was so much fun with bouncy houses, a petting zoo, donkey riding, all kinds of candy, food, and games. Then we ended the night with a fabulous adult-only party at Lauryn and Landon's house! It was so much fun!! Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries (ugh!) so, I got Mendy's picks from the Parham party....I wish I had more pics of everyone's costumes! They were so good! Hope everyone's Halloween was full of fun like ours!

Sorry this took a while...but, here is a little ode to Kinley's crawling and teething trials lately. One of my favorite things is that she takes her paci and turns it around and chews it like crazy without her hands...so she can play with a toy also. I caught some on film...hope you like it. Also, here are some cute pics Ben's mom took of Kinley getting ready for bed this week.
