Easter 2017

We did lots of our normal Easter traditions this year.
Even though March/April is the busiest time of the year for me, it is also the most fun!
And even though it is jam-packed, I just love it all.
We had our traditional egg lunchboxes at school.

We hunted eggs in the backyard for lunch.

I got the cutest palm parade picture of Dylan from his teacher. He talked for days about the donkey at school.

I got to sing at 4 of the 7 Easter services at church. Love singing with these amazing women.

Can't remember who hopped on a chair to take our picture from a better angle, but they were obviously a professional.

It was the first time in years that I was off-rotation on Easter Sunday. I was a little sad to miss at first but it ended up being great. We got to do Sunday morning Easter baskets, leisurely get ready for church and we got to go to Easter services with mom and dad at FUMC Grapevine. I have to say my heart was happy sitting with my kids in a pew and singing all those old hymns on Easter Sunday.

After church, we went to Aunt Jan's for our traditional Easter brunch. We hunted eggs, dyed eggs, did confetti eggs and took lots of family pictures.

My mom brought this princess tent for Rilee and Taylor's birthday and they were great to share with all the kids for some play time.

Ty - Spring Sports - Hockey / Soccer

During the month of February, Ty did the Little Rookies intro to Hockey at the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Euless.
It is an entirely FREE program.
You borrow all the hockey gear and just show up for about an hour each Saturday to learn the basics of being on the ice.
It is put on and coached by some of the semi-pro feeder hockey players for the Dallas stars.
They were so kind!
This guy who did Ty's equipment fitting is a captain of the team and from Australia.

Cutest little hockey player ever

I did not know what to expect from this but he had an absolute BLAST every week. These boys went from literally falling every second to skating around the ice with a stick and shooting the puck into the goal.
It was so cool to see them keep trying over and over again to get it right. AND, these boys were a sweaty mess every day.
Literally wet with sweat head to toe. So stinky. They worked SO hard.

Dylan got his chance to ice skate too (with assistance of course)at Mila and Ella's ice-skating birthday party.

And I just have to document their dolphin cake made by Aunt Minnie. Amazing.

Thankfully, hockey didn't ever interfere with our soccer schedule and Ty had another great spring season with the Vipers.
He really started to be aggressive as a forward this season.
He has traditionally always been a great defender and has a big kick but, it was fun to see him take the ball and run for the goal too.

Mommy Son Night

This was my first year to get to take Ty to the "007 Mother Son Bonding" night at church.
I loved taking my little man on a date.
Dylan will probably join us in the next couple years too.
It was so much fun for the boys.
Laser tag, casino games, virtual reality, obstacle courses, dancing, dinner and a donut wall...all dressed in their best duds.
