Amy & Danny's wedding weekend

We had so much fun this weekend at Amy and Danny's wedding. Everything was beautiful and went perfectly! I was so blessed to be her matron of honor and had the absolute best seat in the house at the wedding where I could see Danny's face the whole time and how sweet and emotional he was to marry Amy. It is just so cool to see a couple you know are perfect for each other pledge to love each other forever.

Rehearsal Dinner - Thursday 7/8/2010
The rehearsal dinner was at Oscar's Mexican Restaurant in Hurst and the room was fabulous. There was lots of family, food, great toasts, a great slideshow and lots of emotions! I always cry at rehearsal dinners, especially when the daddy and brother toasts are as sweet as Jimmy, Bryan and Scott's. Mom did a great job of taking pics and here are a few from the dinner.

Wedding - Friday 7/9/2010
The wedding was at The Piazza in Colleyville and was absolutely gorgeous! It was perfect that it was there because it poured down raining right when the wedding was supposed to start and we got to stay in the same building for the reception too..so, it was great! I wish I had taken more pictures but it was so hard for me to carry a camera around for some reason! Here are just a few of the new bride and groom, Kinley dancing (and loving it), and of the reception.

Sweet Brother Gifts

Remember my sweet cousin Scott who wonderfully entertained Kinley? He exhibited some fantastic brother skills this week (on behalf of him and Bryan) for his sis Amy that is getting married TODAY! Yay! He decided he wanted to make her a one of a kind, very thoughtful, "congrats on getting married...but, don't forget you are still one of us" gift. Love it! He came over to my house on Tuesday night because he thought he "needed my help" putting his idea together. But, in no way did he. He came over with ...

He knew he wanted a special keepsake for Amy with 2 pics of their siblings as babies and today with a special quote. So, one quick trip to Hobby Lobby, a custom double mat, new frame, pattern scrapbook paper and a quote print out from the Mac later...and in no time...here is what we got!

The quote says "A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost" and it has her maiden name initial 'G' for Grant and her wedding date. Scott picked out everything and designed it all with Amy in mind.
And this is how excited Amy was at the rehearsal dinner last night!

Loving it. More pics from the rehearsal and wedding later. But for now, we are so thankful for sweet brothers who, in their minds, will always think you still have their last name. This was my wedding gift from my sweet brothers!

Fourth of July

H3O Fourth of July was so much fun. We had a great time with both sides of our family and it will definitely be a weekend to remember! Of course I had to decorate for the occasion! I had bought these cute boquets of red, white and blue flowers but...we had no vases! So, I "forced" Ben, Alex and Gary to each drink a beer around 9:00am on Saturday so I could use the beer bottles as decor and set the table for the weekend. I hung chinese lanterns over the table and added a cute flag themed pinwheel to some flowers and I think it turned out pretty cute! The Harrison's had most of the exterior of the house painted before the weekend and tons of landscaping done. The grass was held up in South Texas due to the tropical storm but, already the improvement is amazing! The firepit and sidewalks look awesome and I love the grey and white paint color scheme. More pics on the house updates at a later date.

We all took pics in our H3O shirts and just hung out. It was so fun to relax and swim, go out on the boat, play games, and EAT way too much! I made a flag fruit pizza for the occasion using this recipie from "In the Mood for Food". It was devoured on the spot.

And of course, there were lots and lots of fireworks. Alex and Mendy were our fireworks specialists / pyromaniacs and they put on a great show! We kept trying to get a pic of Alex holding a Roman Candle but, kept laughing too hard because he got burned so much...that we made him do it over and over.

I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July, 2010!

H3O

Happy Fourth of July to you all! This weekend is what we are deeming our "inaugural" weekend at the lake house. The Harrison's have been toying with the idea of a lake house logo and really wanted to make some t-shirts. So, I helped implement their design and made t-shirts for the weekend of the 4th! They are not red, white and blue and really have nothing to do with the 4th of July. But, Ben created the design and picked all the colors and the Harrison's signed off and it is a really cool party gift for the weekend!

They picked "H3O" as their lake house logo...a play of water (H2O) and the three Harrison families (i.e. Gary Harrison, Ben Harrison and Alex Harrison). They wanted a sunset and a bird...so, here is what their design inspired!

Ben loves them and I am glad we can wear them year-around and not just at the 4th of July. I will post some more pics of the weekend next week.

Kinley's new dress accessories

I bought Kinley this pretty generic dress for Amy's wedding.
IMG_2321
Luckily, I am a bridesmaid in the wedding and like all weddings I am in, I decided to order "extra length" for my dress. I am definitely like a good 7 inches taller than anyone else in the wedding so, I thought for sure I should get "extra length." This time however, my "extra length" ended up coming in as a floor length gown, instead of above the knee. So, despite my abnormally high alterations cost, I decided it was a great thing and I would use the extra fabric to spruce up Kinley's dress!

I decided to add a sash with a flower and make a flower for her hair...I mean head....still no hair and maybe the baldest baby of all time...but, bald is beautiful, right? So, Kinley will be wearing this next Friday at Amy's wedding! So exciting!
