Egg Drop Contest

Ty has been waiting since Kinley was in Kinder to participate in our school's Egg Drop contest. 

Basically you just create a contraption, within some guidelines, and put an egg inside. 

The principal throws it off the roof and you see if your egg survives. 

 This was our first year to participate and we were SO excited.

 Ben helped both kids enter the contest and engineer their contraptions.

 Both kids projects included lots of polyfill...which Dylan loved to use make himself look like Santa.

 Well, both our egg drop projects were unsuccessful this year! 

 We will have to re-think our strategy and try again next year! 

But, we had SO MUCH FUN!

Ty - Dallas Zoo Field Trip

I love school field trips!

One of my very favorite things to do as a parent. Such special one on one time. 

It is always eye-opening to see your child interact with their teachers and peers. 

 Sometimes it brings total joy and sometimes indicates areas where we need to grow and guide a little more. 

Either way, it is such special time that I love so much. 

I am so glad Ty still wants to be with me and enjoys when I come with him on field trips. 

I will be so sad the day he doesn't run up to me and give me hugs and kisses and smile for selfies with me. 

 

Ty chose the Bald Eagle as his animal to research at the zoo.

 He has been very in to bald eagles all year. 

 

Ty has befriended a group of six boys in his Kinder class. 

 They can be a tad wild (God bless Mrs. Richardson) but they are really sweet and they LOVE each other.

I love seeing him create new friendships on his own apart from my friends kids that I made for him.

So thankful for Ty picking this sweet boy, Aiden, as his little bestie.

 Aiden is the most precious friend with an amazing family that we have grown to love and become family friends with. 

Such a blessing from the Lord in a friend for Ty.

Ennis Bluebonnet Festival

Pops and Gram took Cannon and Dylan for a special day trip to Ennis this spring for the bluebonnet festival. 

I love when my kids have special grandparent time. 

These were our only bluebonnet pics from this year but I am so glad Pops and Gram took so many cute ones.

Easter 2018

Love the Easter Season all the tradition we've built over the years as a family.

 

We hunted for resurrection eggs one night before Easter at Pops & Grams with Cannon.

 

One of the kids favorite traditions is their egg lunch

  

I got to sing for Easter services this year and it was so fun.

 First service was Friday night on Kinley's actual birthday so both sets of grandparents came and we sang Happy birthday to Kinley after.

   

We kept up our tradition of the Saturday Easter bunny...because truly, I do not love the bunny. 

Easter is all about Jesus. 

Also, we opted for Christmas pjs this year I guess instead of Easter pjs. 

Can't win them all.

   

 Saturday daytime we did Harrison family Easter brunch and egg hunting - shirts optional.

 

Sunday was more Easter services with some of my faves: 

 

And our Easter tradition - Aunt Jan's house with Joyner side and Inie joined too this year! 

 

 Aunt Jan had found a huge bag of old dress up clothes in her house and brought them downstairs and of course Kinley and Ty went to town putting on shows for everyone.
