Baseball class

Ty has been in a baseball skills class this summer with his buddies.
It isn't a team or even really tee ball. It's just a skill building class where they learn which way to run the bases and how to run and stop on a base, how to hit the ball off the tee and track the ball on the ground and in the air when it's thrown.
He LOVES this class.
He asks every day pretty much when he gets to go back to baseball.
The last class was parent participation day and I was the only mom down on the field.
I even ran the bases with baby in tow one time.
But Ty could not have cared less.
He loved having us out there.
It was so fun!

Bass Hall date nights

I am loving our season tickets to the Bass Hall this year. My love for musical theatre runs deep AND it always gives us an automatically scheduled date night every so often.

The Nordells and Bartels also have season tickets so we usually try to schedule dinner on show nights as well.

Our seats are right next to the Bartels just by coincidence! We bought them separately, months apart and they just happened to be right next to each other.

Love these angel wings in Ft. Worth. So fun.

Dirty Dancing was two weeks later and seriously, one of my most favorite shows in a while.
The sets were definitely minimal and not impressive.
There were only two singers in the whole show but they were dynamite and the dancing was awesome. He actually did walk through the theatre seats for the last scene and walk up to the stage to say "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" and the audience erupted.
 It was so fun.

We gave our Pippin tickets to Alex and Mendy for his birthday night and I heard it was a great show too! We only have one more show of this season and I am so sad! I think I've convinced Ben that we have to renew for next year!

Katie's shower

I had the privilege of hosting Katie's baby shower for baby Easton at my house!
It was so much fun.
The hostesses and I decided on an arrow/ tribal theme to match Easton's nursery.
I got really excited and made fabric garland and lots of paper shaped garland in the nursery colors of navy, grey and a little bit of mint green.

I also stained a couple pieces of wood and painted arrows on them and strung them together with rope to hang for decor and for Katie to take home for the nursery.

We also got very arrow-happy with the food and everything was on skewers that we made into arrows.
We had fruit arrows, cypress salad arrows and meat and cheese arrows.
We also had a cake with arrows and a big letter E on top.
It was my first party in years not to have a Mendy cake because she was out of town and I just didn't know what to do with myself!
I can't do that again.

We asked everyone to bring a book instead of a card for Easton and as she opened gifts we put them in between these arrow bookholders she could take home.

Katie is just glowing and such a knockout rocking that belly.
So gorgeous.

So glad Katie's mom had a camera going around too so she has more. Hostess fail!

Swimming with Ms Norma

We did two weeks of swimming lessons with Ms Norma this year.
Arabella, Guiliana and Ryland took with us.
I just can't say enough good things about Ms Norma.
She is patient and such a calming instructor for the kids. I don't know what it is about her. We could say the same things she does and give the same advice to our kids without them listening but, when she says it, they just do it! It's amazing.
Both kids grew leaps and bounds in their swimming over those two weeks.

Here is a little video of some of their swimming skills.
My kids loved it when I did the slow-mo videos of them off the board so there are a couple in here too.

Ms. Norma isn't allowed to quit teaching until Dylan knows how to swim.
Until next  year!

Kinley and Aubrey's sleepover with Grammy

My Aunt Lois asked me if Kinley could have a sleepover at her house with Aubrey one night so she could spend some time with them and take them to see Cinderella at Arties the next morning.
This was officially Kinley's first sleepover away from home that wasn't at my parents house.
I was a little bit nervous that she might get scared and want to come home in the middle of the night but, she was so excited and I think they just had the BEST time!
I am so excited that Grammy sent me some pictures of their sleepover.
