Week before Kindergarten

The week leading up to Kindergarten was busy and filled with lots of fun preparation activities.
We had Kinley's last playgroup at The Ark in Coppell.
She asked to go there and almost everyone could come. That rarely happens so it was so fun. Not everyone made the pics.
Some LOVE to pose (i.e. Kinley) and some don't love to pose (i.e. Ty).

That background back to back pose kills me.

And one of the sweetest things ever was that I got a text basically just requesting the presence of our big Kindergartener to show up at a frozen yogurt place at 7:00 one evening.
They had planned a secret frozen yogurt surprise party for Kinley to say Happy Kindergarten.
Kinley was SO, SO surprised and felt so loved.
She was smiling ear to ear and it seriously meant so much to her. They had balloons and yelled surprise and had printed this picture on a canvas and all signed it for her.
EIGHT more of these kiddos will all go to Kindergarten next year but, Kinley is the only one to go this year so it is new to everybody.
IMG_3164 IMG_3153 The workers and people at the frozen yogurt place hated us.
There were so many of us and we were so loud. But, everyone had the best time.
I love this pic of Ty and Giuliana.

Kinley and I got to go on some fantastic shopping sprees with Gram and Honey which was a huge blessing and so much fun for Kinley.
She is not someone I can just buy clothes for and hope she wears them.
She tries everything on and even if I love it and try to convince her its a good purchase, if she doesn't like it, there is no point and its a waste of money.
Honey's shopping trip was to Grapevine Mills and included dinner at Rainforest CafĂ©.

Kinley made sure to bring Ty home a frog hat from our dinner and he loved it.

Kinley went with me for a back to school / pre-baby haircut. It was some fun girl time.

Sunday we went to get mani/pedis with Honey. IMG_3223
After the initial first day hype, we will need to bring Kinley back down to earth. She has been very celebrated lately and it will be good to get things into a more normal routine. But, it has been the most fun just making her last week of summer before Kindergarten so special.

Tooth Fairy Round #2

Kinley lost her second tooth and for the second time she knocked it out.
She has yet to lose a tooth the good old natural "wiggle and pull" way.
We were swimming in the pool with the Barstads and she came up out of the water bleeding and with a bottom tooth missing. It was probably the first tooth she would have naturally lost and had to have been somewhat loose because she did not hit anything, just jumped onto a soft raft, and it came out perfectly.
You can tell she is a little confused about the whole process though because sweet girl made comments like:
"I wanted to lose it but just not today"
and "How do you eat when you lose all of your teeth?"
Precious thing doesn't know that normally when you lose a tooth a new one grows in its place quickly so you can still eat.
You don't lose them all at one time and walk around talking and eating with your gums.
I could tell it was bothering her and she wasn't smiling much the rest of the day.
I don't think she loved the way it looked either.  I hate that we start worrying about what we look like at such a young age.

Anyway, here she is with her 2nd missing tooth.

We had an entire search squad with goggles making it their mission to find Kinley's missing tooth but, even with Avery, Ben, Sassy and Kinley looking, we never found it.
Avery told her that if she wrote a note to the tooth fairy that she lost her tooth, she would still come anyway.

Avery was right :)
The tooth fairy left $2 for Kinley's second tooth and wrote a note back.

Baby H #3 Shower

I was not going to have a baby shower or anything for baby #3 because.... we have a lot of hand me down stuff for the baby and because..... we don't know the gender and.... I just don't know how many times you get to have a baby shower??
But, after some persistent encouraging by a few sweet friends we had the cutest, most fun, non-traditional couples shower for Baby #3.
It was small with just a few close couple friends and our parents, no kids and an adult theme!
Lindsey and Ross hosted the party with lots of help from Mendy and Alex and some other sweet friends.
It was so fun to arrive at their house and see this cute diaper wreath made by Linds for us!

The whole party theme was a diaper shower and we got tons of diapers for sweet baby#3 that will be the biggest help to us when he or she arrives!
IMG_5695
It was the cutest theme with so, so many decorative details and just tons of thought.
  IMG_5668
I cannot wait to read all these as I change baby diapers in the near future.
I am sure I will laugh like crazy.
IMG_5696
Stacee made this adorable diaper/beer cake with full beer for Ben to take home. It was so cute! And of course every chalkboard is a Mendy Harrison special.

There were diaper / flower centerpieces everywhere.
Staci actually went into a random field to retrieve all of these real sunflowers. So sweet!
Kristen brought all kinds of bunting and blue and white checkerboard tablecloths. I wish I could have been on the email chain of all these sweet and talented girls planning this party.
It all turned out perfectly! IMG_5644 IMG_5648
Cutest party favors because we are adding Smore love to our growing family!
IMG_5642 IMG_5643
All the hostesses brought food and drinks and their own decor it all just pulled together so well!
IMG_5650 IMG_5647
We are just so thankful for our sweet friends that came to celebrate with excitement Baby #3.  My precious college roomate, Lindsay, came in to celebrate and spend the night with  Kris and I and it was just the best thing having her in town!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for being excited for us and celebrating Baby #3 with so much love.  You are all truly a blessing and we love you so much.
